Hi, I'm Karen de Souza. I'm the doctor of medicine or MD course director. I lead the deacon MD across three learning campuses in U one and two, and across five deacon Medical school sites in year three and four. And I'm absolutely delighted to welcome you to this MD educator website. This website has been carefully crafted by a team of staff representing all years of the MD program. With you in mind. It takes a village to raise a medical student and you, our educators, play such an important role in facilitating those experiences with truly deep learning takes place those aha light bulb moments when students are just outside their comfort zone in the growth zone, and you can see the magic happening. This website has been specifically designed to support you in your key role as an educator. The site included busy clinicians on the design team, so there has been a focus on this site being accessible and succinct and truly relevant to the entire range of learners that you educate, from medical students to other health students to junior doctors, registrars and fellows. There is something here for everyone and every situation, starting with quick just-in-time tips and including links to more in-depth resources for anyone who wants to know more. For all of you, you can glance over a brief overview of our medical program to see what and how our students learn at each year level. You can see what the purpose, aspiration, and values of our medical program are in enhancing the communities that we serve through outstanding clinical training and research, with the aspiration of addressing workforce needs and advancing health and well-being of our underserved communities, all within a culture of diversity, inclusion, respect, and social accountability. We're always seeking greater engagement with our group of educators, and we're really keen to engage with you on a deeper level. The engage with us section of the website explains how you or your colleagues can engage further with us, and also reach out to contact us with suggestions. The Training Resources section features resources to enrich the tasks that you commonly perform as an educator, such as teaching small group sessions, assessing our students, giving feedback, and having a discussion about expected professional behaviours. The Health and Support section shares key academic and professional contacts within the course, including who to reach out to if you are concerned about a student's work or well-being. There is a helpful, Frequently Asked Questions section here too, and we've drawn this from questions that we commonly get asked by educators such as yourselves. So I wanted to thank you on behalf of our staff and students. Although we're truly fortunate to educate learners in wonderful landscapes in purpose built facilities. It is you, our wonderful educators, that shape learning as we collaborate around growing the future medical workforce for our communities together.
