There are a range of ways that you can engage further with us in the Deakin MD Program:

Our core areas of focus include producing graduates to serve rural, regional, Indigenous and marginalised communities and individuals. We value diversity, inclusiveness, respect, social accountability, excellence, innovation and work-readiness in our graduates and staff. A number of students each year enter the MD program through the Rural Training Scheme and Indigenous Entry Scheme.
Our students come from diverse backgrounds, and demonstrate resilience and commitment to their education. We are committed to supporting all students to succeed, knowing that each of their unique circumstances enrich the learning environment and broader community.

Affiliate Appointments
The Deakin affiliate academic titles are also available to externally-employed health professionals as a formal acknowledgement of our many talented supporters who enhance the success of our students and faculty through teaching and research contributions. Continuing Professional Development
Many specialist medical colleges acknowledge the benefits of contributing to the education and supervision of medical students, and allow claiming of CPD credits for these activities. Please seek advice from your CPD home for specific information.
Practice Incentives Program
Introduced by the Australian Government, this is a payment to encourage GP practices to provide teaching sessions to medical students preparing to enter the Australian medical profession. GP practices may be eligible for this payment when hosting Deakin students.
